Welcome to David Haward Associates, a reputable firm of Chartered Architects based in West Wales. We are proud to have served our clients for over three decades, providing expert architectural design, renovation work, planning, building, surveying, structural services, and building dispute negotiation. Our services extend to Pembrokeshire, Ceredigion, Carmarthenshire, and the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park areas, as well as various National Parks in England and the Home Counties.

Our firm was established in 1988, and since then, we have earned a reputation for successfully handling difficult projects within the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority. As a result, we have become a National Parks specialist, with commissions in Dartmoor and New Forest National Parks. We do not adhere to a specific design style; instead, we tailor each project to our clients' brief while respecting the building's vernacular style and creating elegant solutions that maximise both the clients' budget and the building's potential.

Our location in West Wales has provided us with extensive knowledge of solutions that bring older buildings up to current standards in terms of heating, insulation, and running costs. We also undertake late 20th-century projects, giving us the opportunity to breathe new life into them and create a unique quality that sets each individual project apart.

Our Services

At David Haward Associates, we offer a comprehensive range of architectural services, including:

• Architectural Design: Our qualified and experienced architects provide good design advice from the initial meeting with a client to the completion of the building project. Our staff has undergone at least 7 years of training to obtain the standard of accreditation with professional bodies such as Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) and the Architects Registration Board (ARB).
• Town and Country Planning Act 1990: We offer advice on the feasibility of a project, including the probability of achieving planning permission. We have experience of applications for Listed Building consent, and we offer advice on the interpretation of Permitted Development Rights and the local authorities own Local Development Plan (LDP). We also make Planning Appeals to the Planning Inspectorate and advise on the Party Wall etc. Act 1996.
• Project Locations: The majority of our work is located in South and West Wales. However, many clients wish to take advantage of our design skills, so we undertake projects in a number of National Parks in England, as well as working in the Home Counties.
• Party Wall Act: The original Party Wall Act applied to London as was introduced as part of the London Building Acts (Amendment) Act 1939. Since the system was found to remove costly disputes between neighbours, it was substantially revised in 1996 and applied to both England and Wales.
