Bankhead Design

At Bankhead Design, we are a small Architectural Design Studio based in Neath, South Wales. Our company was founded by Kevin Bankhead in 2013, following many years of experience in the Architectural and Interior Design industry in London, Cardiff, and overseas.

Our founder, Kevin Bankhead, is an award-winning designer with a wealth of knowledge and experience in the Architectural and Interior Design industry. He was a senior member of the Design team responsible for the Interior Design of the Wales Millennium Centre in Cardiff, South Wales. More recent work has included providing architectural design and drawing services for the Architectural design industry and many private clients.

Kevin has an ability to easily understand the client's brief and quickly translate their requirements into three dimensions in sketch form. He has a thorough understanding of the design process and an in-depth knowledge of materials and how things are constructed, allowing him to successfully create innovative design solutions that are not only visually exciting but also work practically and are affordable.

As a small business, we develop a close and effective relationship with our clients in order to achieve the best possible solution for each brief. Our aim is to provide and create a bespoke and innovative design solution tailored to the particular environment and the client's own vision.

Our Services

We offer a range of Architectural design services including commercial and residential interior design, shopfitting drawings, and 3D visuals. We also produce drawings for residential extensions, internal re-modelling, loft conversions, and new build homes. We provide a shopping list of design services, allowing you to decide what you require from us in order to successfully carry out your project and to suit your budget.

For residential projects, we will meet you at your property to discuss your requirements and expectations. A measured survey will then be carried out of the existing property, and plans drawn up digitally on CAD. Using our experience and knowledge, we will produce sketch design proposals which could be a combination of freehand line drawings, 3D sketches, 3D Sketch up walkthrough, and mood board imagery. Once the design scheme has been approved, detail design drawings will be produced for builders to provide cost estimates of your project.

For commercial interior design projects, a detailed brief will be developed between the client and designer which we will then use as a document to develop our design proposals. We would produce an initial survey of the proposed site should it be required. This would be sufficient to put together our design proposals; however, a detailed survey will be required by the contractor prior to construction. We will put together our interior design concept for client approval. Once the design scheme has been approved, a detail design drawing package will be produced for tender. We can assist you in appointing a suitable shopfitter/contractor for the project.

Should there be a requirement for planning approval for shopfront, signage, change of use, or any other commercial project, we can also provide these services.
