The prefabricated timberframe structure required a redesign at an additional cost of 6,000 due to the bathrooms being on the wrong side of the foul drains. The first floor was also designed 31mm out of sync with the ground floor, requiring a structural bracket to be made to hold up a structural steel post.

Professionalism

The client felt that Philip Lewis demonstrated incompetence and a lack of professionalism, threatening to charge an additional 1,400 if the client reported him to the Architects Register Board.
