Wilkinson King Architects is a design-based practice that seeks to build imaginative, contemporary, and environmentally sensitive architecture. Our studio is led by Chantal Wilkinson and Julian King, who work with a talented and experienced team of architects to provide a high-quality architectural service from feasibility to the completion of works on site.

As a practice, we have a broad range of project types and scales, from private housing to small public buildings. We have worked with a variety of clients, including English Heritage and the National Trust, and have a strong track record of delivering projects to an extremely high standard of design. Our built work includes new build houses, as well as renovations and extensions for private clients. We also work for local authorities and public institutions, including arts organizations and businesses.

Our team is led by Julian King and Chantal Wilkinson, who between them have many years of experience in the architectural profession. Julian graduated from the University of the South Bank in 1986 with a 1st Class BA(Hons) degree in Architecture and a Master of Arts Degree in Architecture and Design Studies from the Royal College of Art in 1991. Chantal graduated from Kingston University with a BA in Three Dimensional Design and went on to complete her education with an MA in Architecture and Environmental Studies at the Royal College of Art.

As co-directors of Wilkinson King Architects, Julian and Chantal are committed to providing a high-quality service to our clients. They take a close and detailed involvement with each project, with a particular emphasis on design development, client relationships, and the realisation of works on site. Under their direction, the practice has delivered numerous projects to extremely high standards of design, including RIBA National Awards for Esher House 2006, The Baden Powell Outdoor Centre 2008, and Sussex House 2015.

We have also taught at architecture schools, including London Metropolitan University and Chelsea College of Art and Design. Prior to establishing the practice, Julian worked with Nicholas Grimshaw and Partners on a number of prestigious and high-profile projects, including the Pier 4A terminal building at Heathrow Airport.
