Heighway Field Associates is a RIBA Chartered Practice based in the heart of Exeter, with a rich history dating back to 1996. Our team of talented professionals is dedicated to delivering creative, sensitive, and innovative architectural solutions to our clients.

As a broad-based practice, we offer a comprehensive range of services, including design and contract administration from inception to completion. Our expertise spans across various sectors, including residential, commercial, industrial, leisure, refurbishment, retail, educational, ecclesiastical, and healthcare. We have a strong track record of delivering complex projects, ranging in value from 100,000 to 8 million.

Expertise

One of our areas of expertise is in the conservation and renovation of historic buildings, including those of a sensitive context. We have extensive experience in resolving complex planning issues within environmentally sensitive areas. We also have a deep understanding of traditional building materials and their use.

Client Base

Our client base is diverse and includes private individuals and businesses, developers, housing associations, local authorities, hoteliers, medical surgeries, healthcare trusts, community organizations, and parochial church councils.

Our Team

Our team of architects, architectural technologists, and administrative staff are all dedicated professionals with a passion for delivering outstanding results. Our team is led by Principals Paul Heighway and Andrew Field, both of whom have extensive experience in the architectural profession.

About Our Principals

Paul Heighway, a Chartered Architect and Partner, studied architecture at the Polytechnic of North London and was elected to the RIBA in 1973. Andrew Field, also a Chartered Architect and Partner, studied architecture at North East London Polytechnic and was elected to the RIBA in 1983.

Portfolio

Our portfolio showcases a range of projects, from private residential work to large commercial developments. We have a particular expertise in the renovation and imaginative re-use of historic buildings and have undertaken many projects within Conservation Areas.

15 Years of Practice

In February 2011, we celebrated 15 years of Practice, originally based in Exeter's Cathedral Close.
