Professor Fred Stephen, the founding partner of James F Stephen Architects, worked in private practice for six years before establishing the company. Fred began the business from the family home in Glenogilvy in 1977, with his wife Rosemary and two young children. Over the years, the practice has grown exponentially, expanding its team and portfolio. In 2006, the business moved to its current location in Glamis, a historic Angus village, providing easy access to major cities and a strong connection to the local community.
