Welcome to Design & Development Consultancy (DDC), a leading architecture and project management firm with over 30 years of experience. Our company was founded in 1991 by Ian Spencer, a member of the Association of Building Engineers and the Association of Project Managers. We have built a reputation for providing a quality service, with the majority of our commissions coming from recommendations by clients and other professionals.

Our Services

We offer a broad range of services including design, planning, management, and construction phases. Our expertise lies in negotiating with planning departments to achieve client designs while meeting local and national planning requirements. We use technology to present planning designs and have a sound knowledge of planning processes. This allows us to translate design into buildings that are economical and efficient.

Project Management

Our project management arm works closely with clients and construction companies to ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget. We have built relationships with local construction and building companies over the years, which enables us to recommend and work closely with expert builders to achieve client design and build briefs.

Client Base

We have a diverse client base in East Anglia and the London area, with a growing presence in the Costa Blanca area of Spain. Our projects include new apartments, conversions, and renovations of listed buildings in prestigious areas like Essex, including Dedham and East Bergholt.

Collaborative Work

We have successfully completed projects such as the design and construction of twenty apartments on the sea front at Frinton-on-Sea in Essex. This project involved close negotiation with the local planning authority and residents to ensure that the design retained the sense of history of the Edwardian seaside resort.
