Luke Williamson Architect is a professional architectural practice based in Bicester, Oxford. Established in 2004 by Luke Williamson, the practice has since become a Limited Company in 2011. We offer a friendly and experienced service, catering to a wide range of domestic projects, from small conversions to larger developments. Our Process
We follow the RIBA (Royal Institute of British Architects) Work Stages framework, which offers a structured approach to project management. The stages include:
Stage 1: Preparation & Brief
Establishing the client's project budget, identifying project roles, and conducting surveys to understand the site and existing buildings.
Stage 2: Concept Design
Developing a preliminary concept design, discussing it with the client, and providing updated cost information.
Stage 3: Developed Design
Developing the design with the project team, providing updated cost information, and submitting the developed design for approval.
Stage 4: Technical Design
Developing the technical design in sufficient detail to enable tendering, coordinating designs with other project team members, and making applications for Building Regulations approval.
Our fees start from 1040 for Work Stages 1 & 2 and 1040 for Work Stages 3 & 4, based on a basic single-storey lean-to extension to a detached house with limited internal changes and local to our office location. Below is an indication of typical timescales for our standard projects.
Additional Services
As part of our standard services, we undertake duties as 'principal designer' during the pre-construction phase. We also offer optional services, including preparing a schedule of works, advising on building contracts, and certifying payments during construction.
