John Kennedy Architect is a RIBA Chartered Practice based in County Antrim, specializing in residential projects for clients who want to build a new individual home or modify an existing property. As a sole practitioner, I provide a professional personal service managing each project through all stages of design, planning approval, construction information, tendering, and construction. My dedication is to achieving the best for my clients, and I quickly develop a close working relationship through regular design meetings. I work to inform and guide my clients through the design and construction process, helping them make the right decisions to realize their project.
The design process begins with listening to what my clients want and then developing a creative translation of their objectives, lifestyle, and vision. My work is guided by fundamental principles such as simplicity, spatial quality, and light, sensitivity to site, context, and environment. Attention to detail is a constant endeavour throughout the project, ensuring that clients' homes are beautifully designed and successfully completed to the highest standard of construction.
I established John Kennedy Architect in 2004 after gaining considerable experience working for reputable architectural practices in Belfast, London, Dublin, Hong Kong, and Sydney. I have been a registered Architect for over 25 years and studied architecture at The Queens University of Belfast. Commissions are undertaken throughout Northern Ireland and occasionally in the Republic of Ireland for private clients and small-scale property developers. Projects typically include new build houses, house extensions, conversions, renovations, and alterations for a range of construction budgets and styles.
Recent projects have enabled me to develop an expertise in multi-generational homes. As a sole practitioner, I undertake a small number of projects each year, allowing me to provide a comprehensive one-to-one professional service managing all aspects of a project through design, planning, building control, tendering, construction, and completion.

Testimonials
John took enormous care with this project from our first meeting when he really listened to our requirements, through overseeing every detail of the work, to the completion of the project. The end result was way beyond what I had anticipated at that first meeting. What impressed me most was his vision. The house we have today is bright and open due to the clever use of new openings which look as if they had always been there.
