At the Sustainable Design Collective, we are a collective of Architects, Environmental and Construction professionals with over 35 years of combined experience. Our mission is to provide sustainable building solutions that meet the needs of the environment and the people who use and interact with buildings. We believe that good design and sustainability are inextricably linked, and our team of experts is dedicated to delivering tailored solutions that meet the needs of our clients.

We offer a wide range of services, including:

Kit Homes: We provide award-winning Timber Frame Kit Homes for Passivhaus and Low Carbon projects, designed to be rapid, low-cost, and highly efficient. Our pre-fabricated timber frame kit system creates an ultra-energy-efficient building that exceeds PassivHaus standards for insulation and air tightness.

Sustainable Architects: Our RIBA-registered architects have over 40 years of experience in the housing and commercial sectors, and are skilled in creating sustainable design solutions that meet the needs of our clients while ensuring environmentally positive outcomes. We offer design services for retrofit extensions, new build projects, and self-build schemes.

Sustainability Consultants: Our team of sustainability experts provides consultancy services that focus on energy in buildings, passive design guidance, and Code for Sustainable Homes assessments. We also offer management consultancy expertise, focusing on sustainability, local authority construction, and equal opportunities.

Social Housing: We believe that affordability and sustainability are achievable for all UK housing. We have proven this through our successful Turnkey housing association development in Devon, which reached Level 5 in the Code for Sustainable Homes. We offer design and build solutions for social housing, with a focus on rural areas and a commitment to spreading awareness of sustainability through exceptional design.

Self Build: We support individual or communal self-build schemes with flexible and comprehensive advice on planning, design, and construction. We can provide a water-tight and air-tight shell using our timber frame build system, which can be finished to our clients' specifications. Alternatively, we offer full turnkey solutions.
