Reigate Architects

Reigate Architects, a Surrey-based architectural firm, was established in 2011 by Simon Walter, an architect with an MSc. in Environmental Design and a member of the Green Register of Construction Professionals. Our team of six residential and commercial architects, along with support staff, bring a wealth of experience in a wide range of new build and refurbishment projects both in the UK and overseas. Our mission is to improve the quality of the built environment with every commission we undertake.

In the UK, the title 'architect' is legally protected, and only those who have undergone rigorous training and are fully qualified can use this title. Individuals or companies describing themselves as architectural designers or similar are usually not qualified architects. At Reigate Architects, we pride ourselves on being a friendly, independent, and impartial practice, providing a high-quality service to our clients.

At Reigate Architects, we offer a comprehensive range of services, from initial measured surveys to contract administration and everything in between. Our services include:

Measured Surveys

The measurement of existing buildings and sites, and the production of scale drawings, is the first step in any architectural project. Our team of experienced architects will carry out a measured survey and prepare drawings of your property as existing.

Sketch Designs

Once we have carried out a measured survey, we will meet with you to discuss your project requirements in detail. We will then prepare 'sketch designs' for your consideration, based on your space requirements and preferred architectural styles and appearances. We will work with you to refine the design until you are completely satisfied.

Building Design

Once the design is settled, we will prepare detailed drawings and other information for submission of planning applications and for budget pricing. We will also liaise with the planning department of the Local Authority to gauge their reaction prior to making an application.

Building Regulation Drawings

Once planning approval has been granted, we will prepare detailed drawings and information for building regulation applications. We will coordinate any necessary input from structural engineers or other consultants. We will advise on the need for other such consultants, who are normally appointed directly by the client.

Contract Administration

We will advise on the selection of a builder capable of carrying out the proposed works and will provide full construction and tender information. We will obtain quotations for the building works from a number of contractors and will administer all aspects of the building contract from site set-up through to completion of the works.

Our services do not stop at building regulation approval. We can also provide detailed drawings and specifications for interior finishes/fittings and soft furniture, and energy and renewables strategies, Passivhaus design and low energy refurbishment.
